The gun battles within this video game are much more intense than any bank robbery in ancient western movies and the visuals are as detailed and realistic as the gamer has ever seen. The only problem with this video game is that it is incredibly bulky and has been known to freeze right in the middle of action. The main character can at times pass right through their dead enemies as if they are not there and the controls are clunky and hard to become comfortable with

Learn Piano Blues

No matter what level of playing you're at now or which musical instruments you may know how to play, learn piano blues and you'll be much better off for it. As someone who spends a lot of time playing the saxophone and writing music I have found learning to play the piano invaluable for musical ideas, arranging for other instruments and just plain fun and relaxation. Not to mention being able to accompany other performers when the opportunity comes up.

Learn piano blues and you have also learned many other of your favorite rock and roll songs as well since that style developed out of blues music so the two styles are harmonically very close.

Another great thing about being able to play some kind of blues piano is that you can learn a couple fairly easy patterns on each hand and as you become more comfortable with them before you know it you can quickly develop them into patterns that are slightly more technical and before you know it you're playing some very decent boogie woogie too.

The boogie style came directly out of the blues and is one of the best ways for a pianist to show what they can do. This style of blues with a bit of speed is very impressive.

I learned by standing behind and beside some of my piano player friends and just watched what they did with their hands. Watching from above you can really see what's going on with both hands and how these repetitive riffs are being executed.

It's amazing how easy it can be when you break it down and take it slow. Then, like anything else, with a little daily practice comes the speed and dexterity. Sure, kids usually pick it up quicker than adults but anyone who has the desire to learn can do it regardless of age.

So, learning to play blues music on the piano is not only very basic technically but is also a great spring board for other styles like gospel and jazz. Even if you only learn to play the blues think of the fun you'll have next time there's a jam session opportunity... you know what they say; Blues is the international language of music.

How the Massive Appeal of Nintendo Wii Game System Compares With That Of the PS3 And The XBox 360

When the Nintendo Wii first emerged on the scene, there was such frenzy for it, just as there was with the PS3 and the XBox360. It became hard to find after a hot minute. Its popularity skyrocketed within the first few days. In all three cases, some people wondered why others would be fascinated over a video game system.

With the Nintendo Wii, there are several reasons why:
The Nintendo Wii video game system was made so that people who normally play video games such as those on Xbox360 or PS3 would like it. There was a lot of action like those games. There was quite a bit of excitement in the play.

In the XBox360 and PS3, the games were more fantasy-oriented in many cases. Players took on the identities of imaginary characters and took part in adventures like slaying dragons or fighting battles.

However, the Wii games are different than any of the other games people may have seen. Because of their simplicity and down-to-earth games, Wii game systems sold out very quickly in just a short amount of time. People were hunting all over for them after they sold out.

The Wii video game system appeals to so many people because it is user friendly. Even the person who is not video game literate can get a grasp of these games. Unlike the Xbox 360 or the PS3, the Wii movements are more easily translated from the person's actions to the images on the screen.

The system comes with the Wii Sports collection. This collection consists of baseball, golf, tennis, bowling and boxing. There is a remote which is used to control the movements of the games. Since the remote is in charge of the movements, people don't have to concern themselves with getting a sore thumb.

On the other hand, people who are fond of the PS3 and XBox360 like the complex controls. They enjoy the challenge of seeing what they can do by pushing different buttons and turning the joysticks in different ways.

For the most part, the Nintendo Wii remote control uses one hand. Instead of it being bulky and long like a television remove, it is short and slender. It can be used comfortably in either the left or the right hand. There will be no concerns about losing it because there is a strap attached that can be placed around the wrist.

The same strap can be placed around the arm for another part of its uniqueness; when you make a movement with it, then the object moves. It doesn't matter if you're swinging, rolling or hitting. There is also a nunchuk, which is a device that is used for boxing and other games.

Of course, the PS3 and XBox player would say that their games are set up to move when they move their controllers as well. The difference is that you do not have to memorize what different buttons do. With the Nintendo Wii, you simply have to move in natural ways.

Before a person can play any of the games, the user has to create a Mii character. The Mii program allows a person to customize your own playing character for the games. It comes with a schedule and a memo pad. Many games on the Xbox 360 and the PS3 do not allow customization.

When playing games on the Nintendo Wii, the person will definitely get a workout. In order to play the game, they have to move around with the remote and swing the arm in a certain direction, depending on what game is being played. This is better than playing Xbox 360 or PS3 video games, where a person is are essentially a couch potato.

An important thing to note is that people should not overdo it when playing games on the Nintendo Wii system. All of that swinging can make a person's arm tire out. Even though they can be fun and addictive, those arms should savor any strength for another day. In addition to the basic Wii games that come with the package, there is also Wii Fit, which is a separate entity.

There are also fitness games on some of the other game systems, and people can easily get tired out while playing PS3 or XBox360. It is important when playing those games to take breaks and rest your eyes and your mind.

Another reason why people probably hurried to get the Nintendo Wii video game system is because of the price. Nintendo Wii is affordable, compared to some of the others. Xbox 360 and PS3 were costlier.

Nintendo Wii is considered to be cost-friendly for a lot of people. The price range is about $250 - $300.

In the end, the PS3 and the XBox360 are much more advanced gaming machines when it comes to intricate action. The Wii games are challenging, and there is something for everyone to enjoy.

Red, Green, Blue Led Lights

Since this world was created humans was living simple life as most of the animals are living in wild life today. But with the passage of time man tried hard and realized the gifts of nature that is raw materials all around him. The first ever source of light other than sunlight discovered was that of fire. That too was lit upon by striking two stones. Then he keep on discovering several other things and then at last Edison was the scientist who became successful in inventing first ever bulb. Then different type of light sources came down in the field of science as a research and modification of the bulb which Edison invented. The bulb which Edison invented was based on filament but later in 1907 a britisher H J Rounds came up with new technique instead of filament as bulb components .H J Rounds introduced another component that was light emitting diode commonly referred as LED in the present world. He used a technique called as electro luminance. A technique in which one  material after absorbing light ,re-emits  that light thus producing better light without producing much heat which an ordinary bulb based on filament do produce. Then came the turn of a Russian Oleg Vladimirovich  Losev who on his own claimed invention of light emitting diode (LED) in 1927 twenty years after britisher H J Rounds invented light emitting diodes (LEDs).But despite of its invention in early twentieth century its practical use was first introduced in 1962 and the man behind that practical use of light emitting diode (LED) was Nick holonyak junior.

Light emitting diode (LED) is being used in so many utensils and other house hold things. Whether its idea about renovating or decorating first thing came in mind of decorator is the use of lights. And to further add the beauty in that light emitting diode (LED) is being used. In the market light emitting diode (LED) bulbs are available indifferent colors for creating different effects. Mainly red, green and blue light emitting diodes (LEDs) bulbs are being used for creating different color moods.

Red light is being used by photographers once they do photography at night as red light is good in preserving shadows. The red light emitting diode (LEDs) bulbs has been added to flashlights for night vision enhancements. Green light emitting diode (LED) is commonly used by hunters and it is also one color which can be used in smoke filled environments. Blue light emitting diodes (LEDs)are normally used in torches and other hand held/portable light producing devices and is helpful in reading maps and charts and one requires to avoid detection. Blue light emitting diodes (LED) are also very helpful in detecting blood traces and other bodily fluids and are used in crime scenes mostly for the same purpose. Hunters along with using green light emitting diodes (LEDs) for hunting also uses blue light emitting diodes (LEDs) and with this they trace and reach out to injured animals merely by the quality of blue light emitting diodes (LEDs) to high light blood and other bodily fluids.

The Incredible Hulk: Still Incredible!

I remember when I was a kid back in the late 70's being really excited about the news that I had just heard; The Incredible Hulk one of my favorite comicbooks from Marvel Comics was coming to network television! It would be a weekly series starting off with a two hour series premier that Friday night! Man I was so excited being a huge comicbook fan and especially a fan of the Hulk series I just couldn't wait!

Back then me and my friends read a lot of comicbooks(well I read them, they just looked at the pictures) and so this was a treat indeed. Earlier in the mid-70's they tried to run Spider Man as a weekly series but didn't quite get it. It ran for maybe one season then it was gone. We pretty much thought it would be the same way for the Hulk but we were glad they were even trying to bring one of our favorite characters to life. Eitherway the night it debuted everyone I knew was at home in front of the t.v. watching it! When we got to school the next day we raved about what we saw and how David Banner turned into the Hulk! It was exciting to us and we talked about it for weeks!

Now the original series starred Bill Bixby as David Banner who I always knew as a comedic type actor from his My Friendly Martian days which was still in syndication during that time. I also saw him in a couple of Elvis movies and he always seemed to be portraying someone you couldn't really take seriously. So this role was a change for him and Lou Ferrigno the World Body Building Champ I believe this was his first television series since around that time he was still competing in his sport. Jack Colvin as Mister McGee the reporter was a new character for he wasn't a character in the comic book series created by Stan Lee of Marvel Comics, and at first I didn't like it. I wanted to see Betty Ross, Rick Jones, and Doc Sampson for at that time I was a stickler for those details. But true to form those people who produced tv shows didn't read comicbooks and thought they could just do whatever they wanted to with a character. Well I guess for the most part they were right for the show ran from 1977-1983 which was a pretty good run even though by that time I had stopped watching it.

Fastforward to now where the Retro Television Network (RTN) has been running re-runs of the series and I find that I appreciate that show more now than when I did as a kid. When I was a kid the only thing I wanted to see is David Banner turn into the Hulk and tear something up or hurt somebody. I didn't pay attention to the real quality work that went into making the show a hit. I mean good story lines, good scripts, excellent acting and scripting, and no over the top campiness like what destroyed the Batman series as well as Spider Man and Captain America (the movie and the series for it). They followed more along the line of what made Wonder Woman a semi-hit (I believe it ran for four seasons) and the time-worn experience of Bill Bixby and Jack Colvin who were long time veterans of stage and screen lended nicely to making an incredible story seem more real. No I didn't pay attention to that then and probably wouldn't now if there weren't so many really BAD television shows on today! It seems like everyone has gone the Jerry Springer route in cheap production values, sleazy show topics, and low overhead with inexperienced or just cheap staff-members to maximize profit and contribute more to the downward spiral of American intellectual progress. I mean there are to many 'reality shows'(which are scripted) populating the television landscape and to many rollover series (like how many Law & Order series are there and CSI too? I've lost count!) and others are just plumb stupid! Like what the hell is 'Lost' supposed to be about? 'Smallville' started off as a good idea, now it's grown so over the top and stupid I just fly by that channel every time it's on. At least let me specify that that's what's going on with network television. The only ones even attempting to create good quality shows are the cable networks and I can name you only a few; Disney, Nickelodean, the Sci-Fi channel, ABCFamily (how come they're not doing this for their 'free' stations), Spike, and TNT. I must admit though most of the time I'm watching the Food Network or RTN because I'm so disgusted with the lack of quality I see in todays shows I simply don't watch them.

Eitherway, it's been a long time since I had watched the Hulk for I blew it off a long time ago as simply a kid's show and I wanted to move on to more adult fare at the time. Now though I'm seeing how wrong I was for even though it's a show about a comicbook character, the scripts were very adult and as real as they could have been considering the theme of the show. It was a well produced show and a well directed owing to the talents of the late Bill Bixby and Jack Colvin who can look down with pride on the work they did. Lou Ferrigno is the only original cast member still living and should be equally proud for he pulled off playing the Hulk with such ease that you half-way expect that there's a Hulk running around the streets somewhere trying to get there in time to save the day. As time goes by I expect even more people will re-discover the Incredible Hulk and be impressed by a show that was executed well. I do believe the series will stand the test of time and be included one day on that short list of classic and beloved television series that will never go away. One thing I still want to know though; in the book he was known as Bruce Banner, why did they change the name to David?

Shoppers this holiday will be greeted by an unprecedented mix of box sets and special editions matching and surpassing the bar set last year by HBO's $300 pink suede-covered 20-disc Sex and the City complete-series collector's gift set.

The number of new TV DVD box sets alone is 2 per cent ahead of last year's record pace, when more than 550 were released, according to The DVD Release Report. It's true that in many cases studios are doing this to repack previously released single DVDs and reap some profits before new high-definition video formats take off (they hope).

This year, more series get that treatment, including the Homicide: Life on the Street 35-disc megaset (A&E Home Video, $300) and Six Feet Under: The Complete Series gift set (HBO, 25 discs, $280). Movies, too, are being bundled into boxes that extol various themes (Fox's $99 Rodgers and Hammerstein Collection and Warner's $29 Classic Comedy Teams Collection) or chronicle the careers of actors (The Paul Newman Collection, Warner, $60) or filmmakers (Preston Sturges: The Filmmaker Collection, Universal, $60).

Play Gameboy Color Roms on Your R4DS

Now days, the Nintendo R4 gaming cards are, generally and quite simply, the best storage cartridges available in stores today. Though the card is very popular in various countries it is many times referred to with various names such as Revolution for DS in English, Yushen DS in Japanese and YDS in German. Here below is about a brief history about the R4.

Okay, first off, you will need to download the software that runs these ROMs beautifully.

Step 1
Go here and download Lameboy.

Step 2
Okay, now that you have Lameboy.nds, insert your MicroUSB into your computer and "explore" files. Stick Lameboy.nds anywhere that you can access it when running your R4DS.

Step 3
Get yourself some ROMs, kid. I personally recommend any of the good 'ol classics. I suggest getting an account at Romulation as they have a stable site and no fake/bad ROMs at all.

Go to Downloads --> Retro/Other -->GameBoy & GameBoy Colour.
Some great ROMs are: Pokemon Crystal, Pokemon Yellow, The Legend of Zelda Oracle Games.

Step 4
Create a folder labeled "GBC ROMs" "Gameboy" or whatever else you would like to call the folder that stores your Gameboy ROMs in. Generally, it is best to place the folder at the root of your R4DS files because that way you do not have to go searching for it while you're in Lameboy. Place your ROMs in this folder and then remove your Micro SD card.

Step 5
Place your Micro SD card in your R4DS cart and run it. Run Lameboy and then select your folder. To play a game, you must have the arrow pointing to it and then press 'A'.

The R4 Nintendo gaming card came into the market in early 2007. It was engineered by a team of engineers who would proudly call themselves "Team R4". One trivia fact is that the original R4, unlike its successor, the R4v2, had a push lock system for placing a micro SD card inside it. Though it was at the beginning of this gaming revolution yet the mechanism came with a set of problems and resulted in the breakage of the micro SD card due to the spring malfunctioning (though it happened in rare cases). This caused the Team R4 to make relevant changes to the card after which they launched a new version under the name of R4v2.

The new version i.e. R4V2 came without the hassles of the spring mechanism as in it instead of the spring mechanism, came with a slot inside its back. Thus it enabled the user to manually push the micro SD card inside the cartridge. Though the people were worried, that the micro SD card may dislodge itself from the cartridge, while game play was going on, it was tested to found that the results were fine against this speculation.

Jailbreaking Your iPhone 3GS running 3.0 or 3.0.1 OS

Jailbreaking your Apple iPhone 2G, 3G, 3GS or iPod Touch is a complex process for many out there, with a host of negative consequences that would be enough to scare even myself off, were I not so techno-curious.  The unique process came about when it was discovered that certain functionality of the iPhone had code written into its kernel to allow for certain features to work, yet Apple decided to make sure these functions went undetected. Many iPhone and iPod Touch users were understandably upset and began looking for a way to turn these features on. After all, they're there, so why not allow them to be used?  Well, finding a way to do this is and was not easy.

As it happens, a small group of savvy software engineers (not affiliated with Apple), known as the iPhone-Dev Team, banded together and found the proper exploits within the baseband of the iPhone code that would allow for the "turn that off" commands Apple had in place to be completely ignored. Well, since that time, Apple and the iPhone-Dev Team have been constantly racing to one-up each other.  Whenever Apple releases a new firmware upgrade, they usually fix the specific exploits that were found by the team, as well as force jailbroken iPhones back into the "listen to me" state within their code.  Usually right after doing so, the iPhone-Dev Team finds more exploits within the new code and once again creates that lovely jailbreak fever.  And so the dance continues.

Now, jailbreaking is not without consequences.  Doing so technically voids your warranty with Apple, and that does not account for the many other potential problems that could arise for the not-so-savvy throughout the process, namely what many refer to as "bricking" your device (any error which freezes the device into a state that cannot be reversed).  However, if done right, the rich freedoms it provides from the restrictions Apple places upon the devices can be deemed worthy of the effort.  So, while the jailbreaking process may seem somewhat difficult or even scary to actually do, here is an explanation using the iPhone 3GS as a template.

Important Note: Anyone who has already upgraded to the new 3.1 OS released in September 2009 is out of luck. Apple has again corrected some issues in the newer firmware, and in so doing, has shut off the ability to jailbreak once 3.1 has been installed.  I will explain further below.

Step 1

The first step in the entire process is to find the appropriate files and software necessary to begin. Thanks to the efforts of the iPhone-Dev Team, their resulting tools are solely responsible for the jailbroken joy so many experience today.

The software needed for jailbreaking your iPhone 3GS (specifically) is their tool known as "redsn0w" (that is a zero in there for the record). The latest redsn0w release for the iPhone 3GS is version 0.8.  It can be found on their website under the software section.

The file needed for jailbreaking your iPhone 3GS is what's known as the ".IPSW" file for the 3.0 OS.  The process asks you which OS (operating system) version to revert to during the jailbreak process, as the device needs to be "restored" at one point (part of the process), and it is crucial to make sure you have it saved on your PC or Mac in order to browse your machine and point iTunes to the appropriate 3.0 IPSW file, in order to prevent your computer from automatically reverting to the newer 3.1 OS.  The IPSW file for the 3.0 OS can be found on our server here:

Step 2: Plug in

Once you have redsn0w 0.8 and the 3.0 OS IPSW file downloaded, extracted and saved to your computer, you are ready to rock and roll.

Begin by opening iTunes and then plugging your iPhone 3GS into your computer. (Note: do NOT accept the request to download and install the new 3.1 OS firmware once iTunes starts up.)

Now you'll want to perform a backup to be safe. Simply right-click on your iPhone's picture in iTunes and select "backup 'X's…", and let iTunes backup your device.  In case anything goes wrong, you will have that backup file to revert to without losing your iPhone's data.

Step 3: Starting redsn0w

Go to where you have redsn0w saved, and start the program (within the folder, double-click the executable file ending in .exe). Once it begins, it will close iTunes automatically and ask where the IPSW file is (the OS firmware file you downloaded in Step 1).  Click on browse, and go to where you saved the IPSW file for the 3.0 OS.  After finding it, click next.

Step 4: redsn0w settings and process

Once you have clicked next after finding the IPSW file, the program will actually get down to work.  A window pops up with two boxes that can be checked.  One says "install cydia", and the other says "install icy".  ONLY check the box for cydia, not icy.

After clicking the box to install cydia, the program will bring up a new window and begin to instruct you on how to get your device into "recovery mode".  Follow these onscreen instructions exactly as they are written.  The first step is to turn off your iPhone 3GS while it is still plugged in.  Once it is off, click next.  This is where the "recovery mode" instructions come into play.

Getting your device into recovery mode can be tricky. If it doesn't work properly, you must begin the previous steps all over again to get back to this point and try again.  To get the device into recovery mode, while it is already powered off at this point and still plugged in to the computer, you hold down the power button (the button on top of the device) for 5 seconds, then hold down the home button (button on front bottom of device) WITHOUT LETTING GO OF THE POWER BUTTON, for 10 more seconds.  After the screen blinks off to a black screen, you release the power button while STILL HOLDING the home button continuously for a while longer (up to 30 more seconds folks). 

During this final waiting period while holding the home button, a white screen will appear.  A couple of seconds after the white screen appears, you may let go of the home button.  A new screen will appear on your iPhone 3GS with a picture of a harddrive and a green arrow pointing down over it, and the caption beneath reading: "Downloading jailbreak data…".  The little Apple swirly will begin its magic beneath the caption. 

Right after the swirly finishes, a new screen will appear with a picture of a pineapple with legs looking as though its running on a beach, and a caption beneath reading: "Flashing NOR". If you've arrived at this point, you are almost home free.  More captions will appear under the same picture as the progress bar shows the process continuing.  Once it finishes completely, it will automatically reboot your iPhone 3GS.

Step 5: Checking to make sure it worked

Once your device has rebooted (assuming it has, as it should have), go into the last page where an opening for an app would have been.  This is where the "cydia" app logo would have been.  If the cydia app is on your device, then congratulations! You have just jailbroken your iPhone 3GS.

Step 6 (optional): UNLOCKING your iPhone 3GS after Jailbreaking

If jailbreaking isn't enough, and you want the added freedom of carrier choice, you will need to unlock your iPhone 3GS. This is far simpler than jailbreaking, as it is only a couple of steps that can be performed, but they must be performed AFTER jailbreaking the device, as the cydia program installed through jailbreaking is what allows for unlocking the device.

You simply click on the cydia app, and wait for it to open.  Once it does, it will say it is reorganizing and will close once finished. It might ask you to approve some updates, which you allow. After it closes, go back into cydia again, click search and type in mobilesubstrate. Ensure you are running the latest version. If not, click install and then confirm.

A new screen will appear with three choices after this.  They are "Packages&", "Sources" and "Storage". Click on the middle one called "Sources&", then once the sources page opens, click edit at the top right of the screen, and then click add at the top left. You then type "repo666.ultrasn0w.com" (Note: the "0" in ultrasn0w is the number zero).

Lastly, select the newly added repo source file in the sources menu screen and select 'ultrasn0w'. Then click install and then click confirm. After the program finishes installing, click return to cydia and then press the iPhone home button. You now simply turn the iPhone 3GS off and then turn the iPhone 3GS back on and you should be officially unlocked.

Congratulations again.  You are now free of the shackles and restrictions of Apple's far reaching hands.
